Strawberry Weevil

Rhadinosomus lacordairei

Description:

Strange little thing ...not like other weevils with the long snout , this one rounded..long body ..entire length approx 1.3cms long and narrow, with distinct yellow dots on the upper wings

Habitat:

Hnaging out with leafhoppers and ants ..maybe a predator ...no fruit type plants anywhere near...small eucalypt new growth shrub

Notes:

Very hard to ID ...another spotting here - https://www.flickr.com/photos/rob_dean/1... as it has similiar markings to the Rhinotia sp. ...but no way near as large . Another learn for the day - Weevils are actually beetles. Most belong to the family Curculionidae
