A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Trachemys scripta elegans
Baby Red-Eared Sliders found in a pool of run-off water near the dam in Manhattan, Kansas. Extremely common in Kansas (and apparently invasive), it's fairly rare (for me, at least) to get to see them so close-up - they are normally hanging out on logs in the middle of ponds, and will slip into the water the second they see you. These particular Sliders weren't harmed, and were only handled long enough to take these pictures, then placed back exactly where they were found.

Welcome to Project Noah, HenryTM82,
I hope you like the site as much we do; there are many features you can explore:
I invite you to go to http://www.projectnoah.org/faq where you will find the purpose and “rules” of Project Noah.
There is a blog http://blog.projectnoah.org/ where we post articles from spotters with special insight into different organisms.
There are also the chats for help with identification, and to comment on your own and others’ spottings.
Look at the global and local missions to put your spottings into:http://www.projectnoah.org/missions
Enjoy yourself here, see you around!
