About the span of my hand, maybe a little more. Say 5" to 6" or so wide. It was growing at the Santee Coastal Reserve in SC under Life Oaks.
Can't wait to learn what this is, very interesting...
I spotted some of these a few weeks ago in Ontario, but they were bright yellow.
How large in diameter?
