Osprey (eating a fish)

Pandion haliaetus carolinensis

Description:

The upperparts are a deep, glossy brown, while the breast is white and sometimes streaked with brown, and the underparts are pure white. The head is white with a dark mask across the eyes, reaching to the sides of the neck

Habitat:

Along a river.

Notes:

While sitting on the bank of a river we watched as this Osprey flew downstream and perched on a branch opposite us to eat his catch. When he had finished eating he stared straight down my camera lens (last pic) before flying back upstream.
