American goldfinch

Spinus tristis

Description:

Usually, I have flocks of goldfinches at my nyjer seed feeders in winter but this year, they have been far and few between and those that came were avoiding the thistle seed. So I was very pleased when one finally decided to take advantage of the good service!

Habitat:

My yard
