rosy boa

Lichanura trivirgata gracia

Description:

One of two species of boa found in the United States, one of three found in N America. The desert rosy sub species has well delineated stripes

Notes:

This is a captive born male snake, about 6 years old, that escaped and has been returned to captivity after nearly 7 months loose. In the three weeks he has been safely back in captivity, he is healing fairly well and has a good strong appetite after being in what is, for a rosy, and especially this subspecies a hostile environment. They prefer drier climates than the temperate rainforest offers.
