Asymblepharus ladacensis himalayanus

Description:

it is reported to be common in Kumaon between 1300 to 3000 meters in damp situations and abundant in the environs of Nainital lake and the gardens of Shimla. Males with an orange or bright reddish lateral stripe in summer (Himachal Pradesh)

Notes:

this skink was basking on a wooden fence near the Forest Rest of Shoja, Himachal Pradesh.

Wow! Commonly called snake servant in some areas in Nigeria. Always taken for a lizard.
