Blue Mormon

Papilio polymnestor parinda

Habitat:

My front yard.

Notes:

This's the 1st time I'm seeing this species in the Colombo district, in the middle of an urban area full of spare-part shops. I was very surprised when I first saw it flying around through my window yesterday. I literally shot up from my chair, took the camera and ran after it to capture a shot but to no avail. However, I got lucky today and captured these shots. It must've either come here through some plant brought here from a rural area or somehow flown here which sounds quite impossible. No matter how it appeared here in my garden, I'm more than delighted to see it strolling around!
