Brachiopod Fossils

Description:

One rock, three fossils. All three are mold fossils of brachiopods. The rock measures ~32 mm ( 1.2 in) long, ~2 mm (.8 in) wide and ~14 mm (.55 in) thick. Fossil #1 measures ~15 mm (.6 in) wide and ~10 mm (.4 in) high. Fossil #2 measures ~15 mm (.6 in) wide and ~10 mm (.4 in) high also. Fossil #3 measures ~7 mm (.27 in) wide and the same in height.These fossils date to the Devonian Period (416-359.2 million years ago). The rock is sandstone.

Habitat:

Rocky shore of man-made lake. Pymatuning Lake. Andover, Ohio, USA
