Egretta thula
"Medium-sized, totally white egret with a long slender black bill with yellow lores. The eyes are yellow and legs are black while feet are bright yellow. The head, neck and back have long, lacy plumes during breeding season. Generally silent and feeds on crustaceans, insects, and fish."
Wetlands
The egrets here have recently discovered a new form of hunting, flying above the water and dipping their feet on the surface to attract fish. It seems to be pretty effective. I suspect this one put its foot in the wrong place - maybe the mouth of a Snapping Turtle!

Thanks Emily. :)
Wow! Interesting Spotting Liam! I always appreciate seeing the unique quirks that some wild animals present. Whether it be a deformity or an accident, it reminds me of our own specie and the many variations that are present.
