cape buffalo

Syncerus caffer caffer

Description:

Large member of the bovine group - considered one of the most dangerous of the "big 5." 2nd picture is unzoomed Of course, the one good sighting of a cape on this trip was on foot and away from "protective car coating."

Habitat:

Crater overlook area near restrooms

Notes:

I'm pretty sure they look bigger from on foot, although it was actually my second time encountering one of foot, having been a bit further away during a break in Chobe nat park a few years prior.
