Tooth Fungi

Hericium sp

Description:

fist size cauliflower like fungi, first one I've ever seen

Habitat:

dead log

Notes:

I've seen some really cool fungi lately but this was a first. I've spotted a few of the 'tooth' fungi before ( genus Hericium). This looks like it could be one of them but I'm not sure.

I believe you are correct about the genus Dan, I recently discovered what the beard tooth look like when young, very cauliflower-like.
