thats the oldest house duck of europe i think i've read ... so far i've seen many of them living among mallards ...
I have never heard of a pomeranian duck. I have only heard of pomeranian in the context of dogs.
I just found out it's a 'Pomeranian Duck' - thanks for your suggestions and you were right its a domesticated duck, it is an old landrace of Germany!
Thx for your reply! I guess you're right - it could be a common Hybrid! That's what i thought when i saw it! but i wonder if it might be some natural variation of colour as it seems to appear frequently and is quite Uniform (Black is Hard to See from above against dark ground and white difficult from beneath against fair sky)
Thanks martinurban, I think that you have got it correct. Mallards are notoriously unfussy as to their mating partners and many hybrids exist. Your picture is a dead ringer for my ufo.
