Iberian Wall Lizard

Podarcis hispanica

Description:

The Iberian Wall Lizard (Podarcis hispanica) is a small wall lizard species of the genus Podarcis averaging 50–70 mm adult snout-vent length (SVL). It is found in the Iberian peninsula, in northwestern Africa and in coastal districts in Languedoc-Roussillon in France. In Spanish, they are commonly called lagartija and sargantana. A subspecies of this lizard, Podarcis hispanica atrata, lives in the Columbretes Islands far off the eastern coast of the Iberian Peninsula.

Hi António! Bocage's wall lizard (Podarcis bocagei) is also found in this area but the male (this is a male) has a greener back and a quite different spots pattern.

Thanks Ségio and Emma,i think he is in the moulting last stage and what we see id the last piece of the old skin
