Home for the winter. This little screech owl has used this flicker box for the past two winters. We have a Great Horned Owl in the area and this small flicker box seems to give it comfort. It is in the grey phase. Small owl, pint size, with ear tuffs. make a soft whirring call.

Habitat:

Riparian meadow just outside the garden.

Notes:

Last April, before it left, it came out of the box and posed for a few photos. PN: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/105...
