Spotting

Description:

I found this by chance this afternoon and can't believe I didn't step on it earlier while walking around a flowerbed. When I approached it, there was a fly on top, presumably attracted by the secretions on the top of the cap. I will check it tomorrow to see if it's grown/changed. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update: The 4th image shows this fungus on Day Two.

Habitat:

City park (after a weekend of heavy rain)

Updated spotting. The final image shows it on the second day.

Some kind of stinkhorn. Judging the color, I would have to say Elegant or Dog Stinkhorn.
