Some sort of parasitic wasp? I noticed these tiny cocoons hanging from a leaf in the forest. I brought the leaf home and put it in a jar to see what, if anything would hatch. A week or so later the jar was full of these TINY wasps. There were 5 cocoons. I think there were about 10 wasps. I am not sure if the cocoons are from the wasp or if they had parasitized moth cocoons. The cocoons are shiny bronze color hanging by a single thread. about 3mm long. The wasps are about 1.5mm and have a dark metallic greenish blue body. They have dark red eyes with some sort of white hairs strip going across the middle.. The legs are yellow. the wings are clear with metallic sheen and seem to be covered in tiny black hairs. the antennae are fairly short and thick with 5-6 segments? ONE of them had some white stuff coming out of the addomen. Very interesting.
