Family: Nymphalidae. Wingspan: 4.5-5 cm (1.8-2 inches). Striking brown with orange bands and white spots. Feeds on mostly Buddleia (butterfly bushes) or overriped fruit. Hosts: Neetles. Also known to hibernate.
Open meadows connected to woodlands with plenty of flowers and weeds especially small white aster flowers
