orb-weaving spider

Araneus sp.

Description:

Spiderman dress patterned spider, Yet correct ID not found (This ID looks similar to more extent)...But it belongs to "Araneus" which is a genus of common orb-weaving spiders. It includes about 650 species.

Notes:

Spiders of this genus present perhaps the most obvious case of sexual dimorphism among all of the orb-weaver family, with males being normally 1/3 to 1/4 the size of females. In females, the epigyne has a long scape (a tongue-like appendage). Male pedipalps have a hook-like terminal apophysis. Abdominal tubercles are present anterolaterally

In fact you captured ventral view or down side. Add if you have upper side or dorsal view picture of this spider.

@Ashish : Web style is correct Ashish...good observation. ..I ll add one more photo that may help to see web properly...

This height is common in Argiope... and many are not classified. The Web style is typical of a Signature spider.
Jacob I tried many pictures of Araneus Genus on net but their position on web is different from this.

@Ashish : Around 2-3 ft above the ground...Now definitely a dorsal view is needed...

Ashish, this is definitely a Araneus genus spider:

Argiopes are generally much more oval-like, rather than circular.

The Leg pairs and ventral view is typical of a Argiope genus spider.
Surely not from following Genus...
