Pieris sp.
I'll have a look on the hard drive bayucca, when I get time. But I think not. It seemed to always settle with wings closed.
Pieridae, Pierinae, Pieris sp., not an easy one. The most common ones Pieris rapae and Pieris brassicae are both found in Japan, Brassicae first on Hokkaido. But Pieris canidia is also reported. The other Pieris are in my eyes out of the game. Do you have any other picture of it, open wing shot? Or any other Pieris around?

The size of the spots may indicate more Brassicae than Rapae, but to be on the safe side, I would need see the extension of the black edge.
