Mottled Tortoise Beetle

Deloyala guttata

Description:

Mottled Tortoise Beetle, spotted near the Alabama River. This one is special, since a tortoise beetle was one of the first spottings I favorited on Project Noah. I finally got a photo of one myself!

Notes:

I was surprised that these beetles are very tiny, much like ladybugs... I always imagined them much larger!
