A beautiful, dainty wasp. Harmless unless deliberately provoked . One female makes a tube of mud, and lays an egg in the Back of the tube. She then stuffs it with several paralyzed spiders for the larvae to eat when it hatches before sealing off that section. She repeats it two or three times in each tube. The hole shows where the newly - emerged adult wasp chewed its way out.
