Anthanassa sp. possibly A. tulcis

Description:

Drinking water in a splash zone along the river. Family Nymphalidae. This species was also spotted in August at a higher elevation, puddling in the gravel along the highway: (http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/384...).

Habitat:

Tropical forest, dry season. Chorreadero Park, 10 km above Chiapa de Corzo, Chiapas, Mexico.

Extremely difficult genus! Need to be verified. You have to count each spot, looking for neighboring spots, their distance to each other, color shades, age etc. I mostly can exclude some for sure and I think it is Tulcis but I am not 100% sure. If you want to be on the safe side you take Anthanassa sp.
