Description:

Spider visible in nest - ± 14 mm - web spanning an area of about 40 cm. Web: capture web consists of a flat, slightly concave, non-adhesive silk sheet (40-60 cm wide) composed of a mesh of silken threads suspended by oblique and vertical threads.

Habitat:

Close to water on the ground at Cape Point Nature Reserve.

Johan, if I had that lens I asked for as my Christmas gift I would have been able to get a great close up. However, your similar spot really seems like the same one. I think I will give it that ID. I spot another, that has no spider in the door, will add soon, perhaps the same kind too.
