Chinavia hilaris
This tiny stinkbug nymph landed on my finger and proceeded to try to suck my juices out with its mouthparts. It probed my finger repeatedly, trying to break the skin, but ultimately failed. It was so cute and misguided that I had to take some pictures of it. Stinkbugs feed on plants, not people. This nymph was just confused. They feed with their needle-like mouthparts on the juices of a wide variety of plants from May until the arrival of frost in the autumn.
Rural garden
Both adults and nymphs have large stink glands on the underside of their thorax extending more than halfway to the edge of the metapleuron. These glands discharge large amounts of foul-smelling liquid when disturbed.
