Psilota (coerulea)

Description:

All one colour which is different to the generally striped ones that I see around my garden. Looks like a dark metallic green. Body shape is more like that of a common fly.

Habitat:

Saw this particular fly for the first time in my garden. It was hovering around a tank that contains tadpoles.

Notes:

Have had this hover fly Identified by the Australian Musuem. They concluded it is a species of Psilota, and possibly Psilota coerulea.
