Description:

Endemic to the Philippines, the Scarlet Mormon is a sight to behold. It is a fairly large black butterfly with bright red markings on its underwing. It also goes by the names Crimson Mormon, Scarlet Swallowtail, Menelaides rumanzovius, and M. Rumanzovia.

Habitat:

Urban garden.

Notes:

A high flyer and frisky butterfly :) The 4th photo shows the upper wings.
