Blue-tailed Emerald,Salvin’s Emerald - Chlorostilbon mellisugus salvini
Found this beauty back in July, have not seen it since due to a "Gang" of Rufous Tails Hummingbirds (at least 5) that are so territorial in my Garden and terrorize all the other species... : (
Esmeralda Coliazul. Range: Costa Rica, in highlands of Pacific coast
I would like to invite you to post your spottings of hummingbirds in the new mission for Hummingbirds of the New World:

:-)
It took me days to ID this beautiful Hummingbird. I am 99%, but if anyone has a better or another ID I will search it.
Any comment will be appreciated, Liam?
Liam thank you for the ID.
I have search for a long time, White-bellied Mountain-gem (female) is one that I placed in a list to check along with 4 other species, because I have not been able to really say......that is it, that is the one!!! : (
Genus Lampornis, I believe L. hemileucus. Other female Mountain-gems have a more ruddy coloration below.
The closest to an ID for this cutie is Ruby-Throated, juvenile? Would anyone here at PN would know?
