Description:

Red feathers, short ear tufts, yellowish eyes. Hates husband currently for taking photos.

Habitat:

Nesting box attached to pine tree at edge of woods.

Nice! I really enjoy owls and have been searching for a saw-whet owl that we heard calling outside our bedroom window on Tuesday night. So far I've had no luck and the bird may have just been passing through. I've not photographed eastern screech owls either, so may have to just enjoy your spotting....

The scientific name is Megascops asio, if you'd like to add that as well. If you'd like to add the spotting to one more Mission, there is the Raptors of North America mission.
