Flower beetle?

Description:

A small shiny black beetle with very rounded body; some pitting in elytra - about 10mm

Habitat:

Parkland on the tip of a purple coloured young eucalyptus plant.

Notes:

Not actually on a flower... I wonder if it made a mistake. Yet to search for ID.
