A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Hirundo rustica
We arrived home at lunchtime to see a whole family of Swallows flying around the garden. Thinking they were ours we looked at the nest and it was empty, but then turned around and saw all ours sitting on the underfloor washing line with the parents. So we had two families of newly fledged youngsters. Not sure where the second nest is but its not far away. During the afternoon they were all flying together. They are probably cousins with at least one parent of each family born here in previous years.
