A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
At 9:00 a.m. in the morning, I went into the garage, to hunt for insects to photograph. I found one beetle, resting on a white table, which was inside the garage. This beetle, was one fourth of an inch wide, and one half of an inch long. The color of this beetle, is black. Main prey: Insects, dust, and dung. Predators: Bats, frogs, and reptiles. Special features: Hard outer shell, and two pairs of wings. Class: Insecta Order: Coleoptera. The beetle, is an omnivorous animal, and feeds on whatever it can find, but generally plants and fungi, and the debris from both plants and animals.
Beetles are found in almost every habitat, except the sea and the polar regions. Most land and freshwater habitats.
