Yellow-billed Cuckoo

Coccyzus americanus

Notes:

Not very good photos I'm afraid - I had to shoot through the window and as my field of view was limited I could not avoid that twig in the foreground. This was an unusual spotting for my neighborhood though so I thought it worth posting. This bird is apparently a passage migrant, they mostly winter in South America, though there may be small local populations that winter in Costa Rica - but not in my neighborhood! So I conclude he is on his way to somewhere else...

Anne, this is Larry up in Guanacaste. A beetle expert contacted me today asking to use one of your photos in a scientific article he is writing. Would you please send me a mail to larrygraziano@gmail.com. Thank you!
