Cathartes aura
A scavenger found across the Americas, the Turkey Vulture is a common sight of American Skies. They have naked, red heads and a modest brown plumage. Their sense of smell is commendable.

That's awesome! My main interest is reptiles and amphibians, but I am starting to really enjoy birds too :)
Thank you, Ashley. I appreciate it. :)
I started when I was eight, but really got serious three years ago.
These are one of the few I can actually ID in flight, but I'm working on it :)
btw, I just read your profile and saw you are only 17. I was already really impressed with your knowledge of birds. But now that I know how young you are, I can't even describe how amazed I am with your knowledge of birds! Keep it up :)
