Chipping certainly looks the closest Kim.
One small point, if you were able to crop the photograph before posting the bird would show larger in the pictures. I checked the first picture on the enlarger at full size and the quality is sufficient to allow a lot of cropping. Sometimes in a series its worth cropping one to around 600 pixels wide to put in so that it can be seen better. Only the first can be enlarged and even then only to a max of 1200 pixels.
It's definitely not a House Sparrow, the stripes over the eyes are way too bright and come too far forward, also the House Sparrow only has one pronunced wingbar. I'll check my USA book for more info.
