Black-winged Currawong

Strepera versicolor melanoptera

Notes:

There are six subspecies of Grey Currawong spread across southern Australia with highly variable colouring. After considerable research my sister and I decided that this is S.v.melanoptera, or the Black-winged Currawong. This was a large bird with a very loud call! Seen on the Echidna Track in Onkaparinga River National Park.
