Great-tailed Grackle

Quiscalus mexicanus

Description:

Male Great-tailed grackle. Long tail, long legs, uniform black with a purple-blue gloss. This individual also has one white tail feather.

Habitat:

In a grassy area near Petsmart in Old Town Scottsdale

Notes:

I often see this bird when I'm on my lunch break. He's obviously discernable by the one white feather in his tail which, from what I understand, is due to partial albinism. I'm quite fond of this little guy : )
