Yellow-bellied Sapsucker

Sphyrapicus varius

Description:

Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers are woodpeckers and most people think of them as eating insects. However, Sapsuckers eat a good number of fruits as well. I have seen them eat Poison Ivy berries as well as Sumac seeds. This one was eating Persimmon fruits.
