Adult Red Tailed Hawk soaring today. A cautious bird, hard to get close to. I patient followed him around a field, trying not to disturb him. He was just seemingly wanting to sun and watch from the tree tops.
The Red-tailed Hawk is a bird of open country. Look for it along fields and perched on telephones poles, fenceposts, or trees standing alone or along edges of fields.
So hard to get close too.
