Tetragnatha

Tetragnatha

Description:

Well camouflaged spider. <1cm Normally sits against a twig without moving. Normally found with the legs stretched out in front along the twig. Also known as Long-jawed Spider

Habitat:

This specimen was found on an dead branch with plenty of twigs in a grape vine. The branch had been undisturbed for some time and it was an accident that she was found. The second image shows her hanging in a small orb style web, I am unable to say if that was hers or just a convenient artefact

Notes:

This species may bend twigs into an arch with a small web in the middle. Just guessing from another spotting
