Male wolf spider

Alopecosa kochi

Habitat:

Found in gravel under a tarp, just outside my house.

Notes:

Identification made from photos of pedipalpae which can be seen on the BugGuide reference. The spider was not harmed in the process. Alopecosa aculeata is also found in my area and is distinguished by palp structure.

Hi NatralList, what do you mean? Should I have added something else to the spotting? Sorry, first time here.

Thanks, Fyn! :) The order comes from my BugGuide habit of placing dorsals first - just because they're usually the most useful angle for ID with spiders. Should I do things differently here?

Awesome shots! I would suggest moving #2 to #1 position.
