Long-billed Dowitcher

Limnodromus scolopaceus

Description:

About 11 1/2inches long, these are in winter plumage. Note the long bill seems slightly flattened at the tip.

Habitat:

Breeds in the high arctic of Canada and Siberia. Winters along the West Coast and down into Mexico. I am not sure how far south they extend in the winter.

I love how this Long-billed Dowitcher is sitting in the concentric circles he made!
