According to Bentancour (2011: 76 cited from Drury, 1773) this yellow moth is a hylephila phyleus phyleus which can commonly be spotted south of South América, in Uruguay, Brazil and Argentina.
According to (http://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/speci...) it can be fround from southern United States till southern Argentina.
