Black house spider

Badumna insignis

Description:

These spiders are very common in Australia and New Zealand (I find about five a day.) They're dark coloured and grow about 18mm (30mm wide.) They have a funnel shaped web where they wait but in my photo it's in the fence and they never leave the web. If you're searching for one or two look at night since that's the time for the spiders to repair the web. They do bite and are VENOMOUS but luckily not considered fatal.

Habitat:

Dark places such as corners in fences or on rough tree bark. The country they are in are Australia and New Zealand.

Notes:

The bite causes unbearable pain, swelling near bite, nausea, vomiting and sweating.
