Eastern Hognose Snake

Heterodon platirhinos

Description:

a really awesome southeastern snake. When threatened, they do not bite, but will play dead, flatten their neck like a cobra, & hiss loudly.

Notes:

this snake is in cooler. My uncle (who also loves snakes) came to our house to pick it up to release it elsewhere when my mom (who is not a fan of snakes) found it in the yard.

Nice find! That is a very pretty individual, glad it's safe! I removed your spotting from the Fruiting Bodies of the World mission for you.
