Description:

A black and orange Assassin Bug about 1.5 cm long. It completely lacks raptorial front legs. The middle and hind pair of femora are banded with white. It moves and flies quickly. Family Reduviidae. See the nymph of this species spotted in the same area: https://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/87....

Habitat:

On the leaves of a bush, semi-rural area, San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, 2,200 meters.

Zelus longipes (Long-legged Assassin Bug or Milkweed Assassin Bug), a species with a great variation in size and colour.
