Dixie, it looks like the same species as the one you linked, but Hogna georgicola should have a light colored line down the middle of the cephalothorax like this H. georgicola: http://www.floridanature.org/photos/Hogn...

Actually, Dixie, Gina wasn't sure of her species-level ID of Dan's spider. Both Tom and Dan's spiders are missing the prominent vertical line on the head.

I agree that it probably belongs in the genus Hogna, though.

I looked on dandoucette (he's on Project Noah). I think he has a pic of this same spider. Rainforest Wolf Spider - hogna georgicola. Gina9210 identified it. The location on PN is http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/676.... Let me know what you think. I'm fascinated with spiders but unfortunately have arachnophobia (BAD!).
