Description:

these are non breeding birds, the colours are brighter when breeding and there is a hint of pink to the white plumage. Note the grey subadult in the second photo,young birds take 3 years to mature and to gain their full adult plumage.

Habitat:

seasonal small dam

Notes:

most years various storks tend to arrive to 'inspect' the small dams and ponds in the farms, after heavy rains have filled them. They stay a few days and then move on.
