Goosander - female

Description:

Female Goosander with 3 chicks. Not 100% sure of ident. If someone could confirm I would appreciate it.

River bank

Notes:

I spotted this female Goosander on the rivers edge, not spotting the 3 chicks huddled in to the left of her. She raised her head, looked around, keeping the rest of her body perfectly still, then stuck her head back between her wing feathers, still keeping a watchful eye on me. Then I spotted the chicks which I took to be a cow pat at first glance. Clever mum! Hope they made it.
