Rose-breasted Cockatoo

Eolophus roseicapilla

Notes:

These birds are twenty metres up gigantic paper bark trees (Melaleuca) and tried to hide every time the camera was pointed at them. They would pop back out as soon as my arms went down and look at me quizzically. I once saw a flock of these eating the mash used to make beer and which had been fed to horses. They were so drunk they were laying on their backs with their feet in the air making screeching noises that must have been laughter

I have never heard them referred to as 'rose-breasted cockatoos' - only ever galahs! : )
